Daily Positive Thoughts: October 14, 2013: An Angel
An Angel

By feeding your mind a diet of elevated thoughts, you grow to become more and more like an angel.

Remain independent
The root of suffering is attachment. You have created a space in your
mind that holds a person or object as a part of you. When that person
or object is criticized, neglected or not there with you, you feel pain
in your mind and you experience a sense of loss. If you want to remain
happy at all times, you must learn to love and appreciate while
remaining independent.
The Journey Of Time

There are two laws governing the journey of time in this world.

* Firstly, the movement of time is cyclic i.e. without a beginning or an end. It is not linear i.e. a straight line with a beginning and an end, and

* Secondly, everything new undergoes degradation and becomes old at some point of time.

These two laws help us to understand the journey of time and why the world is in its present state.

We use time to attempt to measure change. One day is measured by the time taken by the earth to rotate around its axis. One day is our basic unit of measurement of time. One year is measured by the time taken by the earth to revolve around the sun. So the movement of time in our physical world is always cyclical. The cycle of the day, from dawn to daylight to dusk to night, is a movement that repeats with absolute constancy. A larger cycle is that of the seasons - from spring to summer to autumn to winter - which also repeat in the same way.
When we become a detached observer and look at the 'big picture' of human history, we see an even larger cycle, the eternal world cycle of time - a cycle that moves from the day of humanity (where everything is positive on a physical as well as spiritual level) to the night of humanity and then back to the day of humanity to repeat again. But to believe and understand that picture completely, we first need to understand the second law of time and also connect it with the first law.

Tomorrow we shall explain the second law of time.

Soul Sustenance
Overcoming The Loss/Separation Of A Loved One

Living trapped in the memory of a loved one who left us, or in the memory of a situation that no longer exists, or in the memory of someone who is alive but who we no longer see (since we have physically separated), does not allow us to enjoy the present moment with freedom.

What is required during the mourning period is the capacity to make peace with the memories recorded in our consciousness. It is to reach a point where these memories do not upset us or cause us pain. It is to acknowledge that the memory of what was and no longer is, no longer generates desires, dissatisfaction, frustration or sadness.

You don't get over the mourning of a loved one or a lost child, because you allow the memory to continue alive, in a way that it invades the consciousness and imprisons the soul. The memory suffocates the present; there exists a desire to relive a past that no longer has the possibility of existing.

Tomorrow, we shall look at some at the questions that arise in the mind in a mourning period.

Message for the day

When the mind is healthy the body is healthy too.

Projection: When we have some difficulty with our body, we usually find our mind becoming dull, too. When the mind becomes dull we no longer can fight the sickness. It, thus, takes a long time to get well and the time during the sickness seems long and painful.

Solution: We need to make sure we keep our mind happy under all circumstances. Where the mind is healthy no illness will attack us. Even when we fall sick we will be able to be stable which will help us to fight back and overcome the illness very soon.

Points to Churn from the Murli of October 13, 2013 (Revised 14-05-1977)

Happy Navratri !!! Day 9

Kanya pūjā, (कन्या पूजा), is a Hindu holiday celebrated on the eighth and ninth day of Navaratri. Nine young girls representing the nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshiped and it is a custom to wash the feet of these girls as a mark of respect for the Goddess and then offer new clothes as gifts by the devotee. There is also a ritual purification and chanting of mantras. She is made to sit on a special pedestal. She is worshiped by offering ‘akshat‘ (rice grains) and by burning incense sticks. She is worshipped because, according to the philosophy of ‘Striyah Samastastava Devi Bhedah’, women symbolize ‘Mahamaya‘ (The goddess Durga). Even among these a girl child is considered to be the purest, because of her innocence.

Om Shanti Divine Angels!!!

Points to Churn from the Murli of October 13, 2013 (Revised 14-05-1977)

Praise of Baba:
The Ocean of Knowledge, the Incorporeal Purifier, the Supreme Father, and the Supreme Soul Shiv Baba is.... My Baba...Sweet Baba...LovelyBaba...Kind-hearted Baba...Compassionate Baba...the True Father...the True Teacher...the Unlimited Father... the Almighty Authority...the Truth, the Living Being, the Blissful One and the Seed... the Bestower of Salvation... Knowledge-full...

Considering yourself to have the mostelevated fortune, is known as being stable in your stage of self-respect. Pay attention to your thoughts, words and deeds. Firstly, constantly maintain your self-respect. Secondly, follow the Father’s orders at every step. Pay attention to these two aspects- self-respect and orders. As well as this, whenyou interact with others, give respect to them. This giving becomes a form of receiving. The fruit of this elevatedcharity is that you become both worthy ofworship and worthy ofrespect. Ask yourself: Do I constantly perform such charitableacts as a charitable soul? You have to maintain your self-respect and also give regard to others.
y stabilising yourself in your self-respect, you will constantly maintain the stage of a destroyer of obstacles. The Father's praise is your self-respect. By remaining stable in your stage of self-respect, you cannot experience any type of arrogance, whetherit is arrogance of your body, intellect, name, service or special virtue. All of that naturally comes to an end, and you thereby become a constant destroyer of obstacles.

By renouncingthe desire for regard, youreceive the fortuneof being respectedby everyone. Those who maintain such self-respect are always humble. Because of being beyond any desire to receiverespect, you becomeworthy of receivingthe most elevatedrespect from everyone. Thisis an eternal law. Respect from everyone is not received by asking for it, but by giving respectto others and remaining stable in your stage of self-respect, you receiverespect from others as a right.

You have to followorders at every step. Thewhole world is constantly surrendered to those who follow ordersat every step. If Maya is constantly wagingwar against you, it provesthat you are not following orders at every step. A mahavir means one who is constantly a conqueror of Maya. Mahavirs are never afraid of Maya, but they challenge Maya. No matter what form Maya comes in, you have to recognise her with the powerof discernment and become victorious. In order to chase Maya away from a distance, constantly remain stable in the trikaldarshi stage.

The sign of those who remain in supersensuous joy.
Those who remain in supersensuous joy will never be attractedto the joy. A child is one who has a right, whereas a seeker जिज्ञासु is one who just has a desire. If you don't attain it now, you will never attain it. If you don't make a bargain for it now, you never will. You still keep thinkingabout it: Should I discard this or not? The Father says: Let go and you will become free.

Special inculcation in order to remain constantly unshakeable and immovable.

Become one who picks up virtues. गुणग्राहक To pick up virtues meansto havefeelings of bringing benefit. कल्याणकारी . To see virtues in defects is known as picking up virtues. Even whileseeing defects, you should pick up virtues.Pick up virtues from those who have defects. Just as they arefirm in their defects, you have to remain firm in your virtues.

The food that makes souls constantly powerful is happiness.

Thereis no nourishment like happiness. Those who maintain their happiness would be powerful.By using the shield of the drama verywell, you will remain constantly happy and never wilt. If you constantly have the awarenessof the drama, youwill never wilt. You will have constant happiness, even in your intellect, and not just in the form of knowledge. Nomatter what the scene is, you should seek benefit for yourselffrom it and you will remain constantly happy.

To be stable means to be so lost in the sweetnessof One that nothing else attracts you. If your intellectis pulled to any other sweetness, you will then not be able to remain stable.

To be knowledge-full means to be one who constantly performs truthful actionsand doesn't waste anything. All your thoughts, words and deeds should be truthful. This is known as being the same as the Father,masterknowledge-full, that is, an embodimentof knowledge.

In the daily murlis, Bapdada gives vardaan to the entire Brahmin family spread all over the world. Baba also remarked in the murli, dated 7-1-2012 that serviceable children will make cartoons after listening to the murli. Visualization makes remembrance of the blessing throughout the day easier and thus makes it more fruitful.

Daily Positive Thoughts: October 13, 2013: Discovering Spirituality

Discovering Spirituality

Contentment is a great strength. It comes when a person lives in honesty and simplicity. Contentment means we have overcome useless desires. It is said that you can discern a person's truth from their level of contentment.
Become your own best friend
Positivity means there is no waste. It is through this practice that
energy is actually created rather than lost. Negativity drains the
power of the soul, making it completely empty within. The result of
this emptiness is sorrow and anxiety. Why would someone hurt another,
commit suicide, kill someone? It is because there is a lot of sorrow
within. When someone is thinking very negatively they create fear in
others. Some think negatively and create fear in their own selves. You
have a choice; to become your own best friend or to become your own
worst enemy. Look after your minds well, pay attention to it and you
will become your own friend.
Fulfilling The Criteria Of Positivity

What is the best way to define positivity? What, for you, is a positive thought, word or action? We could define positivity as something which leads me as well as others towards to a state of truth. A state of truth for me as well as any and every soul is a state in which it is an embodiment of the virtues of peace, love, joy, purity and power i.e. a state in which these virtues exist inside the soul to the fullest extent.

As a result, in this state of truth everything that flows out of the soul or everything that it radiates or every thought, feeling, word or action that it creates, speaks or performs, is filled with these qualities. This state of truth is the original state of every soul. All these qualities are connected with each other. One quality attracts the remaining qualities towards itself automatically.

So, when I, through any medium, bring myself and others, whom I interact with, close to this state, to whatever extent, then that is positivity. If my thought, word or action takes me and others away from this state of truth, then that is the opposite i.e. negativity. Negativity hides my truth, and causes me to take incorrect steps during the day, without realizing, hurting myself and others yet not knowing how or why. At the level of non-physical spiritual vibrations, we are all connected with each other, as a result of which if I help others to come close to the experience of truth, truth as defined above, I will also help myself: whereas if I bring others down into a state of falsehood that will also bring me down. Whenever I give another soul an experience of any of these virtues, the virtue first flows through me and then touches the other. As a result there is an increase in the virtue inside me first and then the other is benefitted.

In the entire day, my words and actions may be numbered, but my thoughts are in thousands. My mind works, even when I sleep, even though I am not active physically at that time. The quality of my thoughts at that time is largely influenced by the quality of my thoughts, words and actions during the day. So I need to be aware throughout the day as to how much is each thought, word and action of mine fulfilling the criteria of positivity mentioned above.

The more my thoughts, words and actions do so; the result is an increase in an experience of inner and outer lightness in the self and a similar experience from me to those who come into my contact or whom I interact with.

Soul Sustenance

Symptoms Of Stress

When we feel stressed we experience certain physiological (related to the body) and psychological (related to the mind) symptoms, whose importance we may not fully understand. These are normal signs that we should re-check our priorities– our body, or our state of mind, is telling us that something in our lives needs to change. Listed here are some of the common signs:

1. Loneliness – We may feel isolated (lonely) from friends and family, or experience a lasting sense of being "lonely in a crowd".

2. Insecurity – We may suddenly feel shy or exposed around people with whom we are usually filled with confidence. Or we may believe that we are always being judged or criticized.

3. Loss of concentration and memory – We may find it hard to recall recent conversations or promises. We may often feel confused, so that understanding and remembering information could also be very difficult.

4. Fatigue (Tiredness) and sleeping difficulties – Although we may feel constantly tired, we could also find it impossible to get to sleep.

5. Tears and mood swings – One of the most common symptoms is that we cry easily. We may also experience mood swings – joyousness followed by sadness or vice versa.
Message for the day

The method to overcome fear is to keep giving power to others.

Projection: In difficult situations, the first reaction is that of fear- of the consequences, of one's own power to face the situation. With this comes the expectation that others should understand and help.

Solution: We need to take a thought to continue to give others even in difficult situations. Then, we will be able to overcome our fear. Since our mind is busy giving others we will be free from any negative thoughts and thus we will be stable.
