Positive Thoughts& Shivratri

Shivaratri — the most significant of all festivals
Inline image 1
The Jambulapalem Shiva temple with 1116 Shivalingas in Prakasam district is spruced up ahead of Mahashivaratri celebrations.
Shivaratri is celebrated every year with a lot of religious fervor and devotion. Devotees keep fast, make offerings on Shivling and stay awake all night (jagaram) to get the blessings of God Shiva. Unknown to most of the devotees the festival of Shivaratri holds the mystery to something most crucial namely, how God liberates the entire humanity from sorrow and suffering. Till this mystery is solved by God himself, Shivaratri is celebrated merely as an annual ritual sans its original significance and purpose. To truly celebrate Shivaratri it is vital to know as to Who Shiva is and what the word ‘Ratri’ which means night has to do with Shiva.
The Supreme Soul is one and souls are many. The Supreme Soul is the Creator and Director of the eternal World Drama and souls are the actors in it. By becoming pure souls can become a great soul (mahatma), religious soul (dharamatma) and a divine or deity soul (devatma) but they cannot become Supreme Soul i.e. Paramatma. Souls are the progeny and not a part of the Supreme Soul.
God Shiva is the creator of all deities even Brahma, Vishnu and Shankar. Devotees worship them as devtaya namaha (salutations to the lords or deities). In comparison, Shiva is always worshipped as Shiva Paramatmay Namaha (Salutations to God Shiva) and Om Namaha Shivay (I salute Shiva). Lord Rama and Lord Krishna are shown as worshipping God Shiva at Rameshwar and Gopeshwar respectively. The light form of God Shiva has been idolized as jyotirlingam (pillar of light) in 12 famous jyotirlingam Shiva temples in India viz. in Kedarnath, Somnath and Mahakaleswar etc. The light form of God is worshipped in most of the faiths in the world.
Interestingly, Shivaratri does not mean Shiva’s night. The festival commemorates God’s descent on earth to end the unlimited Ratri (night) of ignorance and suffering and to usher in the golden dawn of peace, harmony and happiness. Here Ratri connotes that critical juncture in eternal world drama cycle when unrighteousness reaches its extreme and all human efforts to redeem the situation fail. It’s a period of extreme sorrow and suffering when the vices of ego, lust, anger and attachment rule human thoughts and actions.
In Hindu scriptures there is mention of the night of Brahma (Brahma ki raat) and also the night of the Shaktis or Goddesses (Navratris). The night of Brahma signifies the age of ignorance and unrighteousness in which God’s first and purest creation, Brahma and the Brahmins, are clouded by ignorance and vices. When God Shiva comes and opens their third eye of wisdom by bestowing divine intellect, they are able to forge a mental link with Him and draw His power.
Inline image 1
They thus become Shiva Shaktis who destroy ignorance and vices in the world with the help of Shiva. The Navratri (festival of nine nights) is a memorial of the end of the unlimited ratri in which devotees invoke the blessings of Shiva Shaktis and sing praise of their divine actions.
It is at such a time when God intervenes to perform the divine acts of re-creating the new world order of purity, peace and prosperity and destroying the old world order of viciousness, violence and deprivation, as described in the Gita. Just as night ends and day dawns when the sun rises, in the same way to end the night of ignorance God Shiva, the Sun of Knowledge (Gyan Surya) incarnates at the far end of Kaliyuga, in Bharat. This period of spiritual enlightenment is sailed Sangamyuga (Confluence Age) in which the most auspicious confluence of the Supreme Soul Shiva and human souls takes place.

To understand the significance of the role that I have to play is to make it special.
When I compare myself with others, I either feel superior or inferior to them. There is also a chance that I feel jealous. This negativity doesn't help me do the best in what I have to do. In fact, it is true that each and every actor has a special part to play and so do I. When I remember the special role that I have to play in my life and understand its significance, I will be able to give my best to it. Today I will remember that I am the hero actor in this drama of life. Each and everything that happens to me has a meaning and is making me better in this role. I have to excel in this role that I am playing at present. I will then be able to be free from wasteful comparisons.
Ego
Ego is different from self-respect. The one who has self-respect has
the power to listen and accept the criticism that comes his way. But
the one with ego only listens to insults, takes it in and suppresses.
So he finds that from time to time he needs to burst out and vent out
his suppressed feelings. I need to clearly discriminate between
criticism and insults and only take criticism rejecting all insults.
When someone says something to correct me, I first need to check in
myself if there is any truth in what they are saying. If there is, let
me take the learning from it. But if there is nothing to learn, I need
to just learn to ignore it.
Understanding The Process Of Birth And Death

The leaving of one body and the taking of another is nearly always confusing and soon the details of the old life are erased by the new. Just in one day we forget so much. After having slept for a while, after some injury or shock, or even after a change in place, company or circumstances, many things are forgotten.

Death of the body is a great shock to the soul, especially if there was great attachment to that body, and the new set of circumstances in the new body is bewildering (confusing). Because the body and brain are not developed, the soul cannot express its memory, so it laughs and cries when it cannot recognize anyone, or when it wishes to express itself. By the time the body is developed, the soul has forgotten its past birth and has become accustomed to the new conditions and the new parents. The prominent sanskaras developed in past lives soon begin to manifest (show) themselves with new details (in the new birth).
Blessing: May you be an elevated server who becomes a bestower filled with knowledge and has pure and positive thoughts for all souls.
The main basis for being one who has pure and positive thoughts for others is positive thinking. Those who engage themselves in wasteful thinking or thinking of others cannot become those with pure and positive thoughts for others. Jewels of pure and positive thoughts for others always have their treasure stores of powerful, pure and positive thoughts full. Because of being full, they can have pure and positive thoughts for others. To have pure and positive thoughts for the original self means to be filled with all jewels of knowledge. Only the bestowers who are filled with knowledge serve everyone while walking and moving around and become elevated servers.

Slogan: In order to become one who has all rights to the kingdom of the world, become an instrument for the transformation of the world.

Positive Thoughts & The Difference between Shiv & Shankar

The Difference between Shiva & Shankar
Inline image 1

First of all, who is God Shiva and what is our relationship with Him? Shiva - the name means benefactor - is referred to as paramatma or the Supreme Soul, while all the other gods and goddesses in the Hindu pantheon are called devi devatas or deities. That is why the prayer, Brahma devaya namah, Vishnu devaya namah, Shankar devaya namah… ends with Shiv paramatmaya namah.
The Supreme Soul, who is incorporeal, is the father of all human souls. That is why all humans, irrespective of the faith they profess, regard and worship God as an incorporeal entity. Being incorporeal, God Shiva cannot be represented by an idol. Therefore Hindus worship Him in the form of the Shivling.
Inline image 2
Many people confuse the deity Shankar with Shiva. But the depiction and the attributes of the two should make it clear that they are two different entities. Shankar is a deity having a human form and he is always shown sitting in a meditative state, often before a Shivling. It is clear that He is remembering an entity higher than him, which can only be the Supreme Soul. Shankar is one of the creations of the Creator, Shiva. He is bestowed with the task of destruction of the world when it reaches a state of extreme degradation at the end of Kaliyug, the Iron Age. It is because Shiva and Shankar are two different entities that Shivratri is never called Shankar-ratri.

Positive Thoughts

To be focused on the goal is to use our potential well.
When I am focused on my goal, I will not be caught up with the side scenes that come my way. Distractions need not necessarily be positive; it can also be in the form of my own weaknesses or challenges from others. When I understand that I am on a journey and I have to move forward to my goal, I will not be distracted by any good or bad scene that comes my way. Today I will clarify my goal and focus my energies towards it. I will do at least one thing that will make me move towards that goal. And if anything happens that disturbs me, I will remind myself that getting stuck there would not help me move forward in my journey.
Be Peaceful
To be successful in every task, you need to have values which you bring
into that task. Whenever I have to do something let me do it with
love, truth and honesty. Let me not be something inside, and something
different outside. This will show through to others. Let me speak
less and do more. Let me do things with peace. So in order to receive
this gift of peace from God, no matter what the circumstances, let me
have true feelings inside and always have the desire to be peaceful. I
am a soul, an embodiment of knowledge, peace, love and bliss. By being
blissful, there is peace in the head and love in the heart - for the
self, for God and for others. People have so many things in their
lives, but if they haven't learnt this, then what's the use of all
those things? Keep this gift with you, and let it show on your face,
so that everyone can see it.
The Invisible Impressions That Shape Me

While the mind and intellect are two faculties of the soul which play their role on the surface of our consciousness; at a deeper level, hidden beneath these two faculties, there lies a third faculty commonly called the sanskaras. The sanskarasis not only a store house of personality traits, as we commonly know it to be, but a store house of millions and millions of impressions or imprints. Such a large number of impressions are created by millions of experiences that I go through my sense organs not only in this life but in all my lifetimes. Everything that I hear, see, touch, taste, etc. I process or analyze or summarize in my own unique way; basically I give the experiences a unique form depending on my personality, before this form gets stored in the form of impressions inside me.I even process my subtle experiences, which are in the form of thoughts and feelings.

This process of experiencing and processing takes place during each and every second of my life including the time I sleep, when my mind may not be experiencing a lot but it is busy processing the physical and subtle experiences of the day that has gone by and storing the processed information in the form of impressions. From this, one can get an idea of the magnitude of the database of impressions stored within me, the being. These imprints which are unique to me, make up my sanskaras, and shape up my unique personality in a cyclic process. My personality shapes what type of impressions are created out of my experiences and the impressions in turn shape my personality, my thoughts, words and actions e.g. if I constantly keep the company of people who gossip, a large number of respective impressions based on the experience of gossiping keep getting stored inside me, which in turn influence my personality, the personality characteristic gets stronger and over a period of time I do not find anything wrong with it and indulge in it more and more. As a result more such impressions get stored. Thus it is a cyclic process.
Blessing: May you be a great donor and give souls a drop of happiness, peace and love through your constant and stable mood.
The mood of you children should always be stable in happiness. It shouldn't be that you sometimes have an off mood and sometimes a happy mood. Those who are constantly great donors never change their mood. To be one who becomes a deity means to become a bestower. No matter what someone gives you, you children who are great donors give all souls a drop of happiness, peace and love. Along with service through the body, remain busy in serving through the mind and you will accumulate double charity.

Slogan: Your specialities are Prabhu-prasad (holy offerings from God). Do not use these just for yourself, but share them with others and increase them.

Positive Thoughts & GOD’S PROMISE TO COME

GOD’S PROMISE TO COME
Inline image 1
It is His promise, recorded in Shrimad Bhagvad Gita and there are prophesies recorded in other scriptures, that when there is utter irreligiousness, unrighteousness and vicious-ness, then He would come to reveal again the original and true Godly Knowledge and Yoga.

Yada Yada Hi Dharmasya Glanir Bhavati Bharat,

Abhyuthanam dharmasya Tadatmaanam Srijamyaham

Bhagavad Gita (Chapter IV-7)

The Christians believe in the second coming of Christ and the Buddhists believe in the coming of MaitreyBuddha. Some say that he would come as Kalki. Similarly, other religions prophesize the second coming of the Founder of their respective religion or someone empowered by Him. Surely, the Founders of every religion will come. But let us understand it clearly that they would come again at their respective time as given in the wheel of Time. Now, when there is utmost degeneration, it is the time for God Himself to come and adopt someone as His corporeal medium. For, now a new world has to be created and the old one is waiting to be destroyed. Creation of a new world is the responsibility of God and He alone is capable of doing it. The present world also was created by Him and it was He Who created Adam, Brahma or first Manu. Now also, He is revealing spiritual Knowledge and Yoga and, by means of it, He has created again Adam or Brahma and his sons and daughters. It is our sacred duty to inform all about the gracious advent of Him, the Supreme Father, Teacher and Preceptor of all souls. Anyone may agree with us and recognise the truth and have an uplifting experience or may deride and ridicule. It is his or her choice. We know that announcing the coming of God, the Redeemer, is to make the biggest-ever claim, yet the compelling truth and experience urge one to give vent and one becomes helpless to keep totally silent, for it would be dereliction of duty.

Visit the Depths
Like the sea, we're influenced by our surroundings. When the weather is calm, the waves roll gently. When stormy winds blow, we get wild and out of control.
But like the sea, deep beneath the surface there is another world; a world of stillness, beauty and power. When we spend time visiting our depths, we become resilient to the world around us.

Values

The world today is so spoilt and needs to be reformed. It cannot be
reformed with force, but with a lot of love. Therefore you need virtues
in your life. One who has virtues has value. Do not pay attention to
the weaknesses in your life; only then can you become a peaceful
person. Develop love and value for yourself and others. Some people
don't have value for themselves, so by appreciating them, you help them
to bring value into their lives. Values have to be imbibed within, and
we have to make that effort ourselves and recognize the self. When we
do things with the right method, in the right way, and with the right
discipline, then there's success. By developing values in ourselves, we
will be able to receive the gift of peace. To create an atmosphere of
peace, we have to sit peacefully to pay attention to the self without
diverting the mind.
Self Confidence

Self-confidence is very much linked to the understanding that I definitely have something to contribute to life through my own uniqueness. Each one of us is unique. That goes without saying. Unless a person has a sense of contributing, or offering, something to life, they cannot really be happy. I cannot be happy and confident when I am just taking; it simply doesn't work. I can only be happy when I am sharing and offering the best of myself. In that way, I don't feel depleted. When I offer the best of myself in an unselfish way, my happiness and confidence increases - the more I give, the more I receive. We start to understand that the well-being of individuals begins when they can contribute what they are, and what they have, to others. To be a truly self confident human being means to have true spiritual powers, like love, peace and happiness, which are brought into daily life - not just appearing as words or emotions, but truly displaying themselves in our behaviour and bringing benefit to others.
Blessing: May you have God's love and, instead of being impressed by someone's goodness, imbibe that yourself.
If you want to be loved by God, then check the obstructions of body consciousness. Some children say: This one is very good and this is why I feel mercy for him or her. Some have attachment to the bodies of others, some to their virtues or their specialties. However, who gave them those specialties and virtues? If someone is good, then definitely imbibe that goodness, but do not become impressed with his or her goodness. Be detached and loving to the Father. Children who are so lovely, that is, who are loved by God, are constantly safe.

Slogan: Make the power of silence emerge and the speed of service will become fast.

Positive Thoughts & Raja Yoga Meditation:

Raja Yoga Meditation

The word, ‘yoga’ means: ‘connection’. Raja Yoga means union with the Supreme. The aim of Raja Yoga is perfection; the method is the connection with the Supreme. When we have union with the Supreme, we are given the strength to erase our own defects, and the strength to absorb all virtues and achieve perfection. The soul regains its supremacy. The soul becomes a self sovereign. The stage of perfection could be described as BEING COMPLETELY VICE LESS. COMPLETELY VIRTUOUS, FILLED WITH ALL DIVINE TALENTS AND ATTRIBUTES AND COMPLETELY NON-VIOLENT-the soul who follows the highest code of conduct.

Positive Thoughts

Right Awareness

On the path of Raja Yoga meditation there is a saying, "See, but don't see! Hear, but don't hear!" which means to remain aware of all realities, including the negative, but not to focus on them. We get caught up in the negative because we react and the reactions are expressed in the form of judgments, accusations, criticism, or labeling. As soon as we criticize, we put everything into convenient boxes and, just as convenience foods are not always so healthy, such conveniences at the mental and attitudinal level are a great danger, because we mentally seal (close) the fate (destiny) of the person or situation: they are like this and so must be treated accordingly. Meditation is used to bring such attitudes and behaviours to the surface, conscious awareness.

When our vision and attitude remain judgmental or critical, they do so because there is no input of positivity from the self to encourage or allow a positive change. There cannot be a positive output when there is a negative input.

When our awareness is more detached, rather than focusing on what is wrong, we look at how we can put something right by contributing a positive feeling, or attitude. This anonymous contribution is a generous act, which offers a solution, instead of the usual complaints by critical and judgmental people.

Introversion

The more you stay in silence, the more you will be able to realize what
peace is. To be in silence means to be introverted - to look at
yourself inside, to pack up everything. It doesn't matter what is
going on externally; let me stay in peace inside. Whatever obstacles
come in front of me, the power of peace helps me to remove them. The
more you desire to be in peace, the more situations happen to make you
peaceless. Those who are peaceless cause peacelessness in others. By
being silent, introverted and in deep peace, you will not allow any
peacelessness to enter. Let me always speak peacefully. Let me also
discipline myself that I do not listen to things of peacelessness. It
is necessary to train yourself to keep yourself in discipline - it is
an art.

Bringing Your Dreams Alive

Each one of us has dreams that we nourish right through our lives. Some are short-term dreams and some long term ones. Dreams keep changing as we progress through different phases of our life. Some are achieved, some are not. Some of us possess the ability to realize our dreams more than the rest. The most important and influential factor in this process is how much we believe in our dream and believe that it will be realized. Some of the factors that hamper this belief are:

* The influence of the past - the memories of our past failures, which sow seeds of doubt in our mind; as well as successes, which keep us in an illusionary consciousness and distance us from the present moment and our present actions. Also, sometimes we associate present temporary failures or ups and downs which may come in our way, with failures of the past.
* Lack of inner strength or power, when faced with obstacles in your path. Tendency to get dejected very easily and creating weak thoughts like we do not deserve it or we are not capable of it or are we not lucky enough or it is not in our destiny or maybe it is our negative past actions which are influencing our dream realization process adversely, etc.
* The opinions or comments of people surrounding you who sometimes, are not in tune with your consciousness and are not able to empathize with your purpose. Their comments easily de-focus you from your purpose.
* Lack of ability to mould or adjust during the dream realization journey. Any journey is always full of twists, turns and sudden changes. A rigid state of mind, which is not able to change its tactics as required, may make the path seem more difficult than it actually is.
* It is very good to dream but excessive attachment to the dream also may make the journey towards the dream stressful and bring down your self-belief at times.

Blessing: May you be free from attachment and serve with the consciousness of an instrument with feelings of mercy.

At present, when all souls have become tired and disappointed and are asking for mercy, you children of the Bestower have to feel merciful towards your brothers and sisters. No matter how bad someone may be, let there be feelings of mercy towards that one too and you will never have feelings of dislike, jealousy or anger. The consciousness of an instrument easily emerges from feelings of mercy. Do not have mercy due to attachment, but real mercy makes you free from attachment because there is no body consciousness there.

Slogan: To give co-operation to others is to accumulate in your own account.
