Positive Thoughts & the Different Names of God:

The Different Names of God
There are as many names for the Supreme as there are languages, and each one is accurate in that each one conveys a special meaning or quality. The one name that carries out a multitude of meanings, a whole world of significance, is the Sanskrit name “Shiva”. The word Shiva has three specific meanings: Shiva means the Benefactor, the point and it also means the seed.

The Lord of the world, the Lord of the immortal souls, the Bestower of liberation and the Destroyer of sins is the One Supreme Soul. Everywhere in Bharat, from Srinagar in the North to Kanya Kumari in the South, images of this form that Shiva has, are found installed; these images are without face
or ears or feet or body which fact clearly points out that it is the Symbol
of an incorporeal Being. At one place, it is called ‘Vishwanath’(meaning
the Lord of the Universe), at another ‘Amarnath’(the Father of souls),
at a third place it is named Mukteshwara (the Bestower of Liberation)
and it bears the name Papkateshwara (meaning the Expiator of sins)
at a fourth place. All these names prove that these images represent
the Divine Form of God. He is God of all Deities, and, being Rama’s God, is rightly remembered as Rameshwara. Being Krishna’s Lord, His memory as Gopeshwara is preserved in a town called Vrindavan, by means of an idol, called ‘Gopeshwara’.
The temple of Amarnath, Rameshwaram and Gopeshwara etc. are indicative of the fact that God Shiva is the Creater and the Over-Lord of these also. The Black-Stone, called Sang-e- Aswad in the Mecca also is a symbol of God Shiva. Even these days, Muslims who go to Mecca for a Haj (pilgrimage), kiss this holy stone. Though the Muslims do not worship any idols yet they do
not know why this image or idol stands there and is held to be sacred or
worship-worthy. Some Buddhists in Japan concentrate their mind on a stone of this shape. Christ and Nanak also say that God is light. All this shows
that God is Self-Luminous point.

Positive Thoughts
To be an example is to inspire people to change.
It is not always necessary to correct people through words. When my own actions don't reflect the words that I speak, it will not have any effect on people. They would want to see the change that I talk about in my own actions. Since actions speak louder than words, they are inspired to bring about a change in themselves too. Today I will be an example for others in whatever I do. I will check myself when I find the need to correct someone. I will bring about a change in that particular aspect. Then, whether I see the desired change in the other person or not, at least I am richer for whatever effort I make.
Trust
When we are working together, we need to trust those working with us by
seeing their capabilities and using them too. This will naturally
create a healthy environment here everyone is working together as a
team. One thought that would help us in practical situations to work as
a team is to have trust in the ones we are working with. When we are
able to trust, we are able to create a positive environment where
everyone is able to express his or her best potential. The task would
be successful and there would be benefit and personal growth for
everyone working in the team.
Balance Between Masculine and Feminine Qualities

These are some examples of masculine and feminine qualities:

Masculine
Logical, Verbal, Brave, Enthusiastic, Enterprising, Flexible, Creative, Responsible, Self-confident, Jovial, Detached

Feminine
Intuitive, Silent, Affectionate, Serene (Peaceful), Patient, Tolerant, Inspiring, Optimistic, Resistant, Mature, Sweet

Opening up to the spiritual consciousness (or the consciousness of the soul) makes the masculine and feminine qualities emerge from our inner selves. As we become more conscious and attentive, we come across a balance between masculine and feminine qualities, achieving greater harmony in our lives and in our relationships. When we are only aware of the physical form, a part of our being may remain hidden. For example, if a man only identifies with his masculine form (I am a man), his feminine qualities do not develop. In the same way, many women have not developed their masculine qualities due to the thought: "I am (only) a woman". E.g. in a family where the father is often absent and cannot provide his support for long periods of time, the role of the mother takes on another broader dimension. She can make the masculine qualities emerge, combining authority and bravery with her more feminine aspects.

Addiction to relationships, in other words, the dependency on other people, is to a large extent due to an imbalance of masculine and feminine qualities in our inner selves. The main reason why this happens is that we do not develop the qualities that we are missing internally and we seek the company of others who have these qualities. We try to compensate for our weaknesses and fill our defects by taking what we are missing, from other people, thus becoming dependent on them.
Blessing: May you be free from obstacles and become victorious over obstacles by considering them to be a game of entertainment.
It is a good thing for obstacles to come, but you should not be defeated by them. Obstacles come to make you strong. Therefore, instead of becoming afraid of them, consider them to be a game of entertainment and overcome them and you would then be said to be free from obstacles and victorious. You have the company of the Almighty Authority Father and so there is nothing to be afraid of. Simply remain busy in remembrance of the Father and in service and you will remain free from obstacles. It is when your intellect is free that obstacles and Maya come. Remain busy and Maya and obstacles will then step away from you.
Slogan: In order to accumulate an account of happiness, give everyone happiness from your heart according to the code of conduct.

Positive Thoughts & God is One

God is One

All religions have images, idols or memorials, bearing one name or another, to represent the form of the Light of God. Christ, the founder of Christianity said, “God is Light.” Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism also sang the praise of Him who is `All- Light’ and is incorporeal. The followers of Islam in Mecca, call this image “Sang-e-Aswad”. People of Bharat call it `Meccaeshwara’. In the olden days, the Jews held a stone of this shape in their hands while taking a solemn oath and it is also believed that Moses had vision of this form of God when he saw a Flame behind the bush.

He is Nirakãr and all-effulgent (Jyoti-Swarupa).

What is regarded as `Nirakar’ is so only by comparison with objects having gross or subtle physical form. Beings that have a gross body as men and women do are known as `Sãkãr’ or `corporeal’ beings. The deities Brahma, Vishnu and Shankar who are eternal, i.e., who have a self-luminous or an angelic body are, called Sukshmãkari’ i.e. Subtle, Angelic or Astral in form. Shiva, the Incorporeal Being is such a soul that has neither a gross nor a subtle body, and, is therefore, relatively called `Nirãkãr’.So, Nirãkãr is one who does not have the physical form or one who has no outline as of a body. In English, the equivalent of the word `Nirãkãr’is `incorporeal’ or `non-anthropomorphic’, i.e., one who does not have the form of a human body

God has His own imperishable form, which is a point-of-Light, who’s gross and enlarged representation is Shiva-Linga. When a lamp is lighted or a candle is burning, the form of the flame or the light emitted is like that of an egg, i.e. Shiva Linga. Even so, God is a Divine Flame; He has a form which is subtler than the subtlest. We cannot see it with the physical eye. It needs the divine eye to see it. All seeds and eggs, i.e., all the ‘creators’ also have oval forms. So, God, who is the Creator or the conscient Seed of this Human World-Tree, also has an extremely subtle and minute, seed-like form, i.e., He is an oval point of Light.

Positive Thoughts
To finish the burden of the past is to move forward with lightness and speed.
Throughout the day, I may not have that much attention on myself. I may not be able to sustain a thought that I had taken for myself. But before I go to sleep, I need to check myself how I was throughout the day. I need to clear out all my fears and feelings and then go to bed. This practice will make my sleep peaceful and the next day will be beautiful too, because there is no burden of the baggage of the previous day. Today I will talk to myself and God before I go to sleep. I will write down all my doubts, fears and feelings. I will become light in my mind and go to sleep peacefully. Because I will, then, look forward to a brighter tomorrow.
See Specialties
Trust is more based on our perception of people rather than just their
behavior. When we have the habit of seeing specialties in each and
every person, we are able to create space for the use of these
specialties. This automatically reflects our trust in them. Let us make
a firm practice of seeing at least one positive aspect in each and
every person we come into contact with. Then we will be able to use
this specialty in a practical way and help the other person also to use
this specialty. In this way, we will be able to increase his capability
and our trust in him.
Identify The Filters In Your Life

Like different types and different colour filters on a physical level; on a spiritual level, there are many different types of filters that work in our lives e.g. the jealousy filter, hatred filter, attachment filter, fear filter, greed filter, etc. and many more. Due to these filters, we do not see people and things as they are, but as we are, because the filters are our own self-created ones. If we want to see people and things as they are, we need to check which filters are working most in our lives. Each one of us has different filters working to different extents, depending on our personality e.g. someone might have the jealousy filter working more regularly as compared to the fear filter in his/her life.

Because of these filters, everything that we see is not only coloured by the colour of the filter we are using at that time, but our look is also biasedas we choose what to see, what to give more importance, what to be affected by more, what to let through the filter etc. and what not to. We have and form a deceptive vision of the things and people that surround us inside our minds. And the longer this deformed vision lasts, the more we will convince ourself that that is the true image of the world, because our filters continue to process new data depending on what they see that make the image stronger. This reinforcing of the incorrect image builds up our database of incorrect beliefs based on different filters and makes them stronger and stronger as we go through our life journey. Beliefs are fixed ways of looking at reality. Thus, the world that we perceive is no longer the real world, but a world created by our own mind. So in a way we become deaf and blind on a spiritual level towards the world. To heal this deafness and blindness, we do not have to remove each filter one after the other, which may become a difficult task; but we have to discover the pure, original internal self and start seeing everything without the filters, based on the pure-self point of view. As a result of that, gradually our incorrect beliefs start dissolving and correct beliefs start setting in based on our clean unfiltered view.
Blessing: May you be a destroyer of obstacles who remains stable in the point form and who also reminds others of the point (dot) of the drama.
Children who never have any question marks about anything, who always remain stable in the point form and who remind others of the point of the drama are said to be destroyers of obstacles. They make others powerful and take them closer to the destination of success. They do not become happy on seeing the attainment of any limited happiness, but are embodiments of unlimited success. They are constantly stable and stabilised in one elevated stage. With their own stage of success, they are able to transform failure.

Slogan: Give blessings and receive blessings and you will quickly become a conqueror of Maya.

Positive Thoughts & Who Is God?

Who Is God?
‘Supreme Soul’ (Paramãtmã) means that He is the supreme among all souls. It implies that He also is ‘a soul’, and that He is the Highest of all. People say that God is Light, a Jyoti (Effulgence personified) orNoor(a self-luminous object). But they do not know what form that Light has. Just as a soul is a point-of-light (Jyoti Bindu), even so the Father of souls i.e., the Supreme Soul also is a point-of- Light (Jyoti Bindu).
He, whom we call ‘our Father’,has certainly a form. Qualities have no form, but the thing that possesses these qualities has a form. Sweetness has no form, but sugar has. Similarly, peace, bliss, purity, etc., are formless but He, who is the inexhaustible source of these, surely has a form. He bears a name; He has His abode and has His actions to perform.
There is difference between Him and the other souls in respect of qualities.
God is changeless, being the Ocean of Purity, Ocean of Peace, the Ocean of Happiness, the Ocean of Love, the Ocean of Knowledge and the Ocean of Bliss... that is why people ask for their welfare, i.e., for the boons of happiness, peace and bliss from Him. He is above birth and death and is immune to pleasure and pain, whereas the other souls are in the vortex of birth and death and pleasure and pain. God is not formless but is like the souls, a point-of-Light. God has no earthly form; He is not a model made of Matter. He is incorporeal, that is why it is said that He has no ears but He hears, He has no physical eyes but He can see and He has no feet and yet He moves or walks.

Positive Thoughts
To start the day with positivity is to ensure success throughout the day.
When I am a journey, I choose and decide my way - where I have to go. My choice leads me on further in that way. In the same way, the first thought that I have as soon as I wake up decides the quality of my day. If I start the day with a positive thought, I will be able to pick out the best from all that the day has to offer and move ahead towards success. Today I will check what the first thought was that I had when I woke up from bed. I will then take an aim to start the day with a positive thought. Instead of thinking "Oh God, I am late", let me think "I am going to have a great day". I will also create a positive thought before starting any new task.
Love in Action
I should feel love when people don't love me because love heals and
brings happiness. When I feel love towards others, there is benefit all
around. To be loving is a natural way to live. If I make effort to
become more loving, my own happiness increases immediately and soon the attitudes of others will soften. Many people are burdened with
negativity as a result of a shortage of love. It shows up in cycles of
critical thoughts and negative feelings, sometimes directed against the
self, and sometimes blaming others. Such thoughts and feelings run down
energy and deplete everybody's well being. If I recognize this and
become more determined to stay positive, I can end the negative cycles
and reveal the power of love in action.
Meditation And Physical Health

The state of the body is a result of the state of the soul not only because of past karmas(actions performed in this and previous births) but because of its present state also.

For example, when the emotion of fear passes through the mind, the endocrine system starts pumping adrenalin through the body to prepare it for a surge of energy. It is easy to note the cause-effect relationship between fear (cause) and adrenalin (effect). In the same way all of the mental ups and downs cause resulting secretions throughout the body. Internal rage is accompanied by heavy breathing, fast heart-beats, red face and so on. This relationship between body and soul is the reason most physical diseases arise from a psychological or mental origin. There is no doubt that any lessening of harmful secretions by reducing the emotional causes will bring about sound and lasting health. Health and order in the soul (mind) bring health and order in the body.

Of course there are other factors which give rise to health problems - pollution, unhealthy life-style, lack of exercise, wrong diet etc. Through Raja Yoga meditation (taught by the Brahma Kumaris) and its connected positive lifestyle and through a pure vegetarian diet, ill-health can be minimized. The removal of stress and tension has to be one of the most important advantages for a person who practices Rajyoga meditation.
Blessing: May you be a star of success who experiences progress within yourself with your method of making effort!
Those who experience progress and success in themselves with their method of making effort are stars of success. They would not have the slightest trace of failure even in their thoughts about their efforts for the self such as, "I don't know whether it will happen or not" or "Will I be able to do it or not?” They will experience success in themselves in the form of a right. They will easily and naturally continue to have success.

Slogan: Give happiness by becoming an embodiment of peace and then blessings will be added to your efforts.

Positive Thoughts & the Faculties of a Soul

Positive Thoughts & the Faculties of a Soul
The body and its organs are the means of action. The soul is a diamond, the body being the casket for it. When the soul leaves the body, the body is declared to be ‘dead’. When the soul has relinquished the body, people say, “The light has gone, that which lived in it has departed.
The Faculties of a Soul
The soul is a living or a sentient thing. It is said to be conscient or living because it can think and reflect and can experience pleasure and pain, so also bliss and peace, and it can bestir itself and make efforts and actions, good or bad. So, the soul is not separate or distinct from the mind, the intellect (Buddhi) and predispositions (Sanskaras).
‘Mind’ is the name given to the soul’s own faculty or function of experiencing pleasure or pain or of desiring and willing; intellect (Buddhi) is the name applied to the soul’s own ability to reason out things or to take decisions or to cognise and know; the Sanskaras mean the effect produced on the soul by the soul’s good or bad actions, already done. We can also say that the outlook, tendencies or habits that a man comes to acquire as a result of his actions or the attitudethat the soul comes to have is what we mean by Sanskaras or one’s nature (Swabhaava). The insentient Matter does not have any characteristics of desire, thinking, sensation, feeling, cogitation, effort or experience whereas the soul possesses these characteristics.
The soul which uses its will, experience and efforts to good purposes and in righteous ways, is regarded as an elevated soul (Mahaatma), noble soul or ‘a holy soul.’ The soul which has bad will, ill-feeling or vicious efforts is called a sinful soul (Paapaatma), wicked soul (Duraatmaa) or ‘a fallen soul’ (Patit Atma). It is due to the soul itself being good or bad that the saying goes that “the soul is its own enemy as well.”

Positive Thoughts
Let go of Cynicism
"I don't play games! But other people do." When we interpret others' motives & behaviours as games of manipulation & spin, we develop a cynical perspective & become disillusioned. We lose trust & become wary as we watch out for how we may be taken advantage of by others.

To enjoy the relationships in our life, all cynicism has to go! Just break the tendency of being judgmental towards others. So, this week, get really good at trusting.
Detached Observer
Even when things go wrong, the one with a calm mind is able to see
things for what they are. As the mind is clear and there is nothing
waste and negative, there is clarity in perception. So the full
capability of the intellect is used and clear decisions flow
automatically. Let us watch situations as a detached observer. This
will give us clarity and we will be able to take the right decisions
with ease. Our intuitive capability will work at its best and our
decisions will be right so what we do will be for the best.
The Coexistence Of Love And Freedom

Is it possible to love each other and be free at the same time? Yes. To reach this state in a relationship great wisdom is required. Most people love one another and tie one another down. Thus they lose their freedom. When freedom is lost, happiness goes away, and true wellbeing gives way to unhappiness. Often we look above all for love, a love we believe will change our life. We see it as the recognition of our inner value by another person. However, we trip over ourselves in looking for this love. Necessity is what motivates us and we try to satisfy it with an object or person who matches up to perfection. We have an immense emotional need for love, and the fear of remaining in a state of unsatisfied wanting. In our search to fill our need, we are prepared to deceive ourselves with unsuitable partners. Many people allow the love of another person to define their personality to such a point that, if they are rejected, they lose any sense of who they are and of the purpose they have in life. Often the relationship is colored, through one of the partners or both, by fear.

To free ourselves of the tendency to depend, we should have a strong heart, without any selfishness; a heart that has nothing to hide and that, as a result, is free and without fear; a heart that does not hold on to closed beliefs, to old negative experiences; a heart that has good feelings and is free of bitterness; a heart filled with the true values of peace, love, freedom and solidarity - which as a result is stronger and fuller.
Blessing: May you be the spiritual stars of knowledge who become the companions of the Sun of Knowledge and the moon of knowledge and change night into day.
Just as those stars emerge at night, similarly, you spiritual stars of knowledge, the sparkling stars also emerge in the night of Brahma. Those stars do not change night into day, but you become the companions of the Sun of Knowledge and the moon of knowledge and change night into day. Those are the stars of the sky and you are the stars of the earth. Those stars are part of matter and you are Godly stars. Just as many types of stars are visibly sparkling in the physical galaxy, similarly, you are spiritual stars sparkling in God's galaxy.

Slogan: To receive a chance for doing service means to fill your apron with blessings.

Positive Thoughts: Who Am I?

In the past one year, through the different Positive Thoughts a lot of knowledge about the soul has been given.
A Human Being is; a Human + a Being;
A Human body made up of the five elements + the Being, the soul.
‘I’ and ‘my’ or ‘mine’ signify two separate entities. ‘I’ means the soul, and mine is the body wherein the soul resides. When you sit in a room, you would not say: “I am the room.” Similarly, ‘you’ are not the body; your body is your cottage. A driver seated in his car drives the car, but is himself separate from it. In the same manner the soul is the driver in charge of the body which serves as a carriage. The soul hears by means of the ears, speaks through the mouth and sees with the eyes. Therefore, you are a ‘soul’and not a ‘body’.

Cooling Thoughts
When there is a fire, the most urgent thing to do is to try to put the flames out, and not worry about how the fire started. In the same way, when someone's angry, instead of adding fuel to the fire and making things worse or heating up and getting angry yourself - put out the fire. Become cool and create 'cooling thoughts.' 'Cool' the other person down by sending them good vibrations and good feelings
The Best Gift
When there is the thought to do something unselfish for someone every
day, there is the ability to give happiness unconditionally. Whatever
the relationship or whatever the personality of the other person, the
one who develops the habit of doing this, is able to remain a source of
support for those around. The best gift we can give is to give
happiness to finish sorrow. When we are constantly thinking of this,
not for any reward but just for the sake of it, we are able to discover
and enjoy the fruit of that action. We become free from expectations
and are able to enjoy the action itself.
The Origin of Addictions And Overcoming Them (cont.)

In order to change an addiction, we need to work out what need lies behind this addiction. What is the spiritual desire that we are trying to satisfy?

If we smoke for relaxation (by smoking we breathe deeply and this relaxes us), perhaps what we really need is peace of mind. Any doctor will tell you that mental peace cannot be found in a cigarette. On the contrary, instead of calming your stress, it makes you more irritable and nervous, especially when going through withdrawal symptoms. We can learn to find relaxation and peace through meditation and will not have the need to smoke.

The same applies to all the other qualities that we need to experience in our lives so that we feel satisfied and happy: it is in our inner self where we can turn to discover what we need. Although our mind often asks for visible and material things, its needs are deeper and nothing superficial can satisfy it. Meditation leads us to what is genuine and eternal.
Blessing: May you have pure and positive thoughts for the self and others and thoughts of knowledge by remaining free from thoughts of the illness of the body!
One thing is for the body to have an illness and it is another thing to be shaken by that illness. It is destined for the illness to come, but for you to be shaken from your elevated stage is a sign of being tied in bondage. Those who remain free from thoughts of the illness of the body and who maintain thoughts of the original self and thoughts of knowledge are those who have pure and positive thoughts for others. By your thinking a lot about matter (the body), it becomes a form of worry. To be free from this bondage is known as the karmateet stage.
Slogan: The power of love makes a problem as big as a mountain into something as light as water.
