Daily Positive Thoughts: May 17, 2013: Transform

Daily Positive Thoughts: May 17, 2013: Transform

Transform regrets into realisations and therefore ensure that what could be waste is made into something worthwhile
Worry is triggered by any negative memory of the past.

It means, you are suffering, and you are probably under the illusion
(false belief) that you are enjoying your suffering. It also means you
are not living now. You are missing your own life by living in your
worries, which are always in the past and in the future. Your worry
habit has trapped you in the past where you get the raw material for
your worries, and a non-existent future, where you focus that
material, and the result is you miss your life now. All this won't
change until you choose to change the worry habits that you have
recorded in your consciousness (mind). That will require the removal
of the illusion (false belief) that you hold inside that it's good and
necessary to worry. It's a waste of time and energy. It means
replacing the desire to create images of negative futures with
positive responses to what is happening in your life right now.
Otherwise your 'worry karma' will keep you in permanent pain (sorrow).
The Miracle Of Silence

It seems contradictory to speak, or write, about silence because silence is really something to be experienced. In the experience of silence, we discover deep spiritual truths and come to know our spiritual self.

Silence grows within us, helping us to progress and develop in a very subtle way, just like a seed: the flower is hidden in the seed; the seed is hidden in the earth. Sunlight touches the earth that warms the seed and the flower begins to grow. Like a seed, we are also full of a great deal of potential. It is not really knowledge, or discussion that will truly develop that potential. They help, of course, but it is the light of silence that penetrates very deeply and awakens the potential within, inspiring it to burst and to blossom into a flower. Silence is also a space that gives the mind oxygen, allowing the creation of something new, filling life with power and strength.

Everybody's religion nowadays is one of being busy. Everyone's rushing around, doing something, proving something, showing something. In that rush to be someone, we tend to forget the great power and miracle found in stillness.

The Power To Tolerate (cont.)

Real tolerance is a state in which, firstly, I have to be very clear about my own contribution to a difficult situation. If the difficult situation is signaling a need for me to change my own behaviour, I have to be open and responsive to that.

Secondly, real tolerance requires understanding and compassion (mercy) towards others: knowing that at the deepest level, all people wish to live with love, peace and happiness, and that when we behave badly towards one another, it's because we are suffering from a loss of these qualities. That doesn't mean I have to invite another person to continue to insult me, or deliberately expose myself to difficulties. But if I happen to be in a situation where there is continuous assault, understanding will contribute to my power to tolerate it and accept it or walk away from it in peace.

Thirdly, real tolerance is that state of fullness, which comes only through the relationship with the Supreme, in which there is no impact from the assaults, other than to provoke a response of wanting to give, like the fruit tree. A culture of tolerance is actually a culture of forgiveness. When we move very far away from God, tolerance levels run low. The nature we express becomes that of wanting, taking, needing, rather than our original nature, which is for giving.

Message for the day

To be careless means to misuse specialities.

Expression: To be careless means that there is no awareness of one's specialitites and so there is the inability to use them for the benefit of the self and for the good of others. On the other hand there is also a tendency to become overconfident because of these specialities and not to work on self-transformation. The one who is careless is not able to recognize the need for self change and so is not able to bring about transformation.

Experience: When I am able to be free from carelessness, I am able to understand the importance of the specialities that I have , and am able to use a particular speciality that I have , and am able to put them into use. So I find that the more I am able to use a particular speciality that I have, the more I am able to bring out and use the latent specialities that are within me. So I am able to experience quick transformation and constant progress.
